Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre

Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre is a small outdoor venue located in the AvidXchange Music Factory in Charlotte. The AvidXchange Music Factory (formally known as the NC Music Factory) is a music, entertainment and dining complex located just outside of uptown Charlotte. The Music Factory houses venues such as The Fillmore, the Underground, the Comedy Zone, and the Fountain Plaza to name a few. The amphitheater is the largest venue in the complex and is owned by the AvidXchange Music Factory but operated by Live Nation Entertainment. The doors opened in 2009 under the name of Time Warner Cable Uptown Amphitheatre and remained the same until Time Warner’s contract expired in 2012. From 2012 it was just known as the Uptown Amphitheatre until Charlotte Metro Credit Union bought the naming rights in 2016.

The amphitheater is the smaller of two outdoor concert amphitheaters in Charlotte. The other one being the PNC Music Pavilion seats around 19,000 people and hosts many well-known performers. The Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre holds 5,000 people and hosts around 25 concerts a year. It has both reserved seating and general admission lawn seating. With the location so close to uptown the venue offers great views of the Charlotte skyline. You can also enjoy the show with a much smaller crowd. The venue offers an intimate feel that you don’t get with larger outdoor venues.

There are a variety of acts that have come to the amphitheater such as the Dave Matthews Band, Steely Dan, Boston, Toby Keith, Tim McGraw, Def Leppard and Lady Antebellum to name a few. Tickets sell out fast at this venue because of the limited seating. If you live in Charlotte you know this is one of the great places to see your favorite artist perform. The venue has great acoustics and there isn’t a bad seat in the house. The elevated lawn seats provide a great view of the stage.

If you’re going to the amphitheater be sure to allow plenty of time to get in and out. There is basically one way in and traffic tends to back up. Parking is easy as there is a parking lot just across the street from the venue. The Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre should definitely be on your list of venues to visit.
